In every corner of Sardegna there's a gastronomic world to discover. Countless differences exist between one village and another. Each village and town has its own particular typical product creating a distinctive and rich cuisine with an emphasis on fresh and natural.
Cheeses, different cold cuts, cakes, biscuits, cookies, sweets, and other baked goods, liqueurs, and grand Sardinian wines are among some of the local food products that are available for you to learn about, taste and purchase.
Vineyards are present throughout Sardegna and the rows and rows of grape vines which cover the slopes remind and invite visitors to taste some of the award-winning and delicious wines such as: the Vermentini which are typical wines of the Gallura area; the famous Capichera wine; the full-bodied reds from Cannonau della Barbagia, the well-known Nepente wine, the renowned Terre Brune wine made from the red Carignano vine; the Malvasie wines, and the sweet Moscati wines. It is the legendary Turriga wine, however, that is considered the "King of Sardinian Wines." This wine is a splendid blend of Carignano, Bovale Sardo, Cannonau and Malvasia Nera grapes.
Sardegna's landscape is rich and diverse. It ranges from rugged mountains to lush meadows, to dense woodlands, to a dramatic coastline of hidden coves and many beautiful beaches. It is unspoilt and spectacular.
The Hotel Gabbiano Azzurro is situated at the centre of all this diversity. There are many trails and walks from the Hotel which take you through immense, multi-coloured flower fields in the spring. You can walk through the rugged terrain of pastoral lands, and on some of Europe's most beautiful beaches.
The sights are memorable and the views are breathtaking! Guests can choose to be escorted by an experienced guide from The Sardinien Guide Team who specialize in the area, and are trained in Nordic Walking for those wishing a fitness workout. The guides are knowledgeable about the history and the archaeological sites of the area. A number of these sites are situated close to the Hotel Gabbiano Azzurro such as the Nuraghe, the Tombe dei Giganti, and the Domus De Janas.
The Alpha Diving Center provides the guests with safe and exciting diving experiences. The center organises diving trips for people to experience the undersea world.
There are also excursions on boats with a qualified skipper and trips aboard a rubber dinghy. Sardinian waters are unrivalled in beauty and there are certain locations that can only be reached by boat .
The diving courses are held at the hotel GA and the instuctors are able to provide all the necessary diving licenses to the participants who attend the course. One of the insructors that works with the center is the famous Renato Romer Course Director ESA. He is a professional diver that shares a keen interest in Golfo Aranci's undersea kingdom and on land. His personal pictures can be viewed on the various pages of this website, and are evidence of his enthusiasm for this place.
