Shardana And Nibiru - Between Myth, History And Imagination 0 Comments

Written by Daniela Toti
We have already written about the famous Shardana: Warriors Of Sardinia and we want to return to the topic, because the mystery surrounding them is increasingly fascinating. They are among the most enigmatic and debated figures in the ancient history of the Mediterranean.
Sometimes undocumented history intertwines with the fantastic, with myths, with the arcane. And this is precisely what the much-contested archaeologist and writer Minerva Elidi Wolf has dealt with, after twenty years of study on Sumerian tablets.
According to Wolf's theory, the Shardana would be connected to the warriors of Nibiru, a hypothetical planet made famous by the speculative theories of Zecharia Sitchin. It is one of the boldest and most fascinating hypotheses, but also one of the least accepted by the academic community. It is based on an alternative reading of ancient texts, legends and esoteric references, to place the Shardana in a "mythical" or even extraterrestrial context.
In this vision, the Shardana would be descendants of an alien race coming from Nibiru, which would have brought advanced knowledge to Earth, particularly in the fields of warfare, navigation and engineering. Their characteristic horned helmets would be a symbolic representation of their connection with "gods" or superior beings, often described as having extraordinary powers.
In this scenario, the Shardana would not have been mere mercenaries or navigators, but emissaries of a superior civilization, with the task of bringing order to the Mediterranean according to "cosmic" directives. Even the attack of the Sea Peoples, of which they were a part, would have been orchestrated not to destroy, but to establish a new planetary balance.
Arguments in favor of the theory
There are elements that, according to the supporters of the theory, might deserve consideration:
-
Their presence in very different contexts (as both enemies and allies of the Egyptians) and the iconographic similarities with mystical symbols make the Shardana an enigmatic figure.
-
The construction of the nuraghi and the maritime skills of Nuragic Sardinia could suggest a culture with knowledge superior to that of contemporary civilizations.
-
In some esoteric narratives, the association between the Shardana and celestial phenomena recurs: the idea that they were "sky warriors" might find a symbolic parallel with those of Nibiru.
Arguments against the theory
Naturally, there is no shortage of objections, and they are solid:
-
There are no archaeological, epigraphic or historical testimonies that link the Shardana to an extraterrestrial origin.
-
All available evidence places them firmly within the Mediterranean basin.
-
The hypothesis of Nibiru originates from highly controversial interpretations of Sumerian texts proposed by Zecharia Sitchin, which the scientific community has widely rejected.
-
The horned helmets, cited by some as signs of alien connection, can be explained more simply as cultural and symbolic representations common to many ancient civilizations.
Although theories like that of Minerva Elidi Wolf are suggestive and stimulate the imagination, they remain without concrete foundations. Most historians and archaeologists consider the Shardana a terrestrial people, probably originating from the western Mediterranean, who played an important role in trade and conflicts during the Bronze Age.
However, their iconography, their mysterious role among the Sea Peoples, and the few certainties available continue to make them an object of study, fascination and constant reinterpretation. And perhaps it is precisely in this balance between history and imagination that their evocative power resides.
"Between the wind and waves of the Mediterranean, the Shardana sailed not only to conquer, but to write their legend in history." (cit.)
