Vogue's Photo-Shooting Among Sardinia's Nuraghe 0 Commentaires

International Haute Couture has represented Sardinia abroad while revealing the treasure chest of the most hidden wonders, the nuraghi and the ancient and typical masks of Barbagia, the Mamuthones, the Boes and the Merdules!

In the November 2019 issue of the popular fashion magazine Vogue (Portugal edition), Grace Anderson has been modeling for the photographer Luis Monteiro at the Archaeological Park of Suni (a two-hour drive from the Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites), in front of the Nuraddeo Nuraghe.

In the photo-shooting, the model wears clothes with colors and tones recalling the beauty and designs of mosses and lichens on the ancient nuraghe stones. Around her, the dancing procession of the Mamuthones, with their slow and sad pace, and those of the oxen-headed Boes and the Merdules, the oxen guardians, trying to tame them.

The archaic atmosphere opposed to the beauty of Haute Couture is fascinating. The photo-shooting succeeds to let us imagine the scent of mastic and moss that a delicate breeze enjoys carrying among the stones of the nuraghe and the fabric of Grace Anderson's dress. 

Ms. Cristina Concu, Administrator of the Company that manages the archaeological park, the Nuraddeo Nuraghe and the museum area of Suni, hopes to achieve and has partially achieved, that this allure may hit the attention of tour operators attracted by the ancient culture and beauty the Sardinian island is so full of.

The Archaeological Park of Suni consists of the Nuraghe "Nuraddeo", the Domus de Janas "Chirisconis" and the Protonuraghe "Seneghe", which are three important examples of Sardinian Nuragic and pre-Nuragic archaeology. 

The Nuraghe "Nuraddeo" (where the Vogue Portugal photos were shot) consists of a central tower and three side towers. Remains of the village may be found all around the nuraghe. 

The "Seneghe" protonuraghe, in the enchanting Modolo valley, is one of the few so-called corridors-nuraghi that may be visited.

The hypogenic necropolis of Chirisconis, the Domus de Janas, is a grouping of cavities and underground environments with 12 entrances and 21 burial chambers. In its eight original rooms, located on two floors built between the 19th and 20th centuries, the “Tiu Virgiliu” museum house, located in the heart of the old town, introduces the tourist to the everyday reality of agro-pastoral popular culture. Near the park, there is the pond Pischina ‘e Paule, inhabited by numerous animal species. From here you can follow naturalistic paths through areas where the griffon vulture lives and nests.
