The magnetic centres with the highest energy in Sardinia, according to recent research, are located in Palau, 46 km and 48 minutes drive from the Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites.

Trying to keep away from any esoteric interpretation, of which I would not be competent, I limit my story to what magnetotherapy provides, alternative medicine, which uses magnetic fields to treat certain health conditions, as it claims that the exposure of the human body to their energy has beneficial effects on health. Furthermore, recent knowledge of physics tells us that we live in a universe composed of a network of energetic interconnections, of constantly changing radiant energy, a particularly strong and vibrant cosmic-telluric energy…

And it seems that the ancient Sardinians of the Nuragic era firmly believed in this, by constructing their monuments right where enormous accumulators of terrestrial energy were, as mentioned in the article of Geo Energetic Sardinia. Near Palau there are, among others, four places where important magnetic energies are detected:

1. The Li Mizzani Tomb – also known as the Tomb of the Giants – (datable between 1500 and 1200 BC), is not among the largest and most known tombs, but it is almost complete in all its parts, and seen from above, the construction looks like the outline of a bull's head, an animal revered as a symbol of strength and fertility by the ancient Nuragic. It has the characteristic of concentrating a considerable energy charge. Aristotle also recounts in his writings that in ancient times the sick or wounded were brought here to benefit from the influence of the energies still present around the monument.

2. The St. Giorgio church, dating back to 1675, was built during the Spanish domination in an area that was notoriously already sacred in very remote times due to the pre-Nuragic and Nuragic periods many remnants, as well as Roman and Byzantine ones. It is in one of the most interesting regions of the Palau area where an advanced civilization lived perhaps 4,000 years ago. The environmental context of the region is characterised by numerous tafoni, created by the erosion of the wind and the saltiness, within which there are signs of ancient settlements, while the Mediterranean scrub is high and thick. Springs and sacred wells from the prehistoric age have come down to our days and give water and energy, like the numerous natural caves around, which seem to be containers of energy, inhabited from the most distant eras up to a few decades ago.

3. The mastic wood, not far from the St. Giorgio church, where the mastic tree with evergreen leaves with a resinous scent, from a shrub or small tree has grown tree there, has inside ancient blocks of granite, in which it is said that a great energy flows into it, which was used for religious rites of ancient peoples who disappeared over the years.

4. In Monte Canu, in addition to the remains of a prehistoric village, there is also a sacred spring and an oracular temple which can be reached by following a path strewn with fragments of white quartz. The landscape is beautiful. The energy all around is almost palpable and here too, entering one of the caves, where the energies are "concentrated", the magnetic energy is perceived. They recommend spending the night there to recharge and meditate.
